Canal tour
Experience a beautiful longtail boat tour in the canals of Thonburi, experience with us a time travel into a “different world”. Beautiful temples, typical old Thai huts, life at the canal, fauna and flora. Storks, herons and monitor lizards cavort along the canal and go hunting there. From time to time you may see small boats offering goods in the klong. As the Klong used to be the waterway of the locals, many temples were built directly at the Klong so that they could reach them with the boats, many goods were transported via these waterways and the supply of the citizens was ensured.

Grand Palace & Wat Phra Kaew
After this beautiful canal tour, we the Pier from where we take a short walk to the Grand Palace, built on the east bank of the Chao Praya River. Please note the smoking ban, the police impose heavy fines. It is especially important to wear the prescribed type of clothing to get into the palace at all. The Emerald Buddha in the royal temple Wat Phra Kaew is unique, and many Buddhists from all over the world flock to this place to pay homage to Buddha. As soon as you enter, you will be amazed by the colourful and oversized guards, the yaks and the gilded prangs. Three times a year, the king or his representative changes the garments of the Emerald Buddha, depending on the season.

Wat Po
In the temple Wat Po area you will also see 4 chedis, some of which contain the mortal remains or Buddha relics. The first Chedi was built during the reign of King Rama I and contains the remains of the Buddha statue Phra Si Sanphet which was destroyed by the Burmese during their raid on Ayutthaya in 1767. The reclining Buddha with its 46 m length is something unique in Bangkok and a must for every visitor. The soles of the Buddha’s feet are decorated with mother-of-pearl and embedded with 108 images referring to Buddhism. After visiting Wat Po, we take the van to a restaurant serving typical Thai food for lunch.

Wat Arun
Wat Arun, also called the Temple of Dawn. We first go to the area of Wat Arun that is decorated with colourful porcelain shards to climb the Prang and enjoy the view. From the top you have a beautiful view of the Chao Praya River with its meanders and of course the Grand Palace which is on the other side of the river. The climb is very steep and you should wear sturdy shoes, if you are not free from giddiness and insecure we strongly advise against the climb. Our next destination is the ordination hall with its beautiful wall paintings reflecting life at that time.

Flower market and spice market
Pak Klong Talad Market, also known as the Flower Market, where you will see a wide variety of flowers being woven together or put together into artistic shapes by many busy Thais. The market is open 24 hours a day and especially at night you can see the goods being delivered. We turn our attention to the warehouse where flowers and flower bouquets for the temples are produced, sold and delivered Bangkok-wide. In particular, all kinds of spices and fruit are sold here on a large scale, bought and resold by smaller businesses. You will be amazed at how many spices there are, ask the tour guide questions as often as you like, it adds to an interesting tour.
