Mangrove area

After our guide has picked you up, we can start the tour reliably and safely. Our trip goes south from Bangkok to the Samut Songkhram province to Amphawa. Taking into account the tide (tides), we head into the mangrove area. We take a longtail boat into the extensive mangrove forests that end in the sea. We visit the shell divers in the estuary depending on the height of the tide. On this trip we pass the “floating monkeys”. On the way you will see from the water and from land the traditional townhouses standing on stilts at the estuary to the sea. Experience the way of life of the locals who live on the river banks and manage their shrimp and shellfish farms.

Train Market

Then we go to a small traditional restaurant on the River and order Thai culinary seafood specialities, rice dishes or vegetables for you, depending on your wishes. If you can’t eat fish or meat, you can have a menu of chicken, vegetables or fried rice prepared. After the delicious meal, we take the van to a small train station in the province. We board the train coming from Ban Laem and take the narrow gauge train to the “umbrellas back market” or also called Talad Room Hoob in Thai. Your tour guide will walk you through the market and explain one or two Thai specialities.

Floating Market Amphawa

Amphawa  is one of the few truly authentic “floating markets” in Thailand. Directly at the Klong, fresh meals are prepared on the old boats. Here you can get grilled fish, called Phla in Thai language, in all variations and of course Pad Thai, fried noodles or Pat Pak, fried mixed vegetables. The attraction in this area are the fireflies, which the Thais call “Fireflys” and which sit and glow in the trees at night. If you like the ” you can book this additionally and you will experience with us a beautiful night trip by longtail boat to the nearby areas. Afterwards, we show you the fabulous root-covered temple Wat Bang Kung from the Ayuttaya period, which is unique in this area.

Wat Bang Kung

The temple was built when King Taksin was fighting with his soldiers in Ayutthaya, with the area serving as a navy camp. The temple was the spiritual centre for the soldiers, in honour of King Taksin the place was redesigned and is now a popular destination for Thais who celebrate their faith there. Many Chinese are also seen here, as the camp was guarded by Chinese soldiers assembled from the provinces during the Ayutthaya period. The camp was called Bang Kung Chinese Camp. In the square you can see cast figures of Muay Thai boxers in various fighting positions.
